Project Health Checks and WorkshopsWe assess and foster the health of your mission critical projects.
Over fifty five project management success factors are assessed against Project Life Cycle standards and industry best practices, independently and in collaboration with the project manager and other key project stakeholders. An assessment of the health of your project is provided, and an action plan is produced, detailing the actions recommended to address and resolve any identified project management deficiencies, issues or risks. A Project Health Check is often conducted when a project is starting to get behind schedule and/or go over budget, but is even better conducted at the end of the project planning phase but before the project plan is finalized, to ensure the plan is complete and the project has a strong foundation for success. AlphaPM can support you with doing a Project Health Check for your project through three day Workshops (public or on-site) or via Web Conferencing (spread out over several days of your choosing). Areas assessed, and some of the project management success factors reviewed are: Business Case & Project Initiation - Does the project meet strategic business needs and have measurable success factors? Project Planning - Are all the appropriate project management planning deliverables being produced according to industry best practices? Project Execution and Control - Is the project being managed and tracked with effective status reporting, performance reporting, scope management, cost management, change management and quality management? - Are lessons learned collected, shared and applied? Project Organization - Do all team members understand their roles? - Are project communications and problem resolution structures working well? Project Methodology - Is a formal Project Life Cycle methodology used, with supporting templates? Project Performance - Is the project on-schedule and within budget? - Is the Project Sponsor satisfied with project and team performance? Project Risk Management - Are project risks being identified and addressed regularly and at phase ends? Other topics covered during the Project Health Check Workshop include: - Learn Why Projects Fail - Measure the Performance of your Project with AlphaPM’s Project Dashboard tool - Determine whether your project can succeed or should be terminated - Develop an action plan to address and resolve identified project management deficiencies, issues or risks.
